Folly
Book Two

2020 / 2021

This book is to celebrate two years of Folly.
I call it a letter of ‘old and new architecture’, a way of making the premise of the letter so vague that it can cober whatever I want to write about. A way of indulging my interests, which this year have inadvertently focused on agricultural building, the English Baroque, and interviews on contemporary projects; on creativity in the pandemic, or the need to recognise the natural world when building.

Framed within these selfish terms, I have been excited by the responses others have written within these topics; from the series of rambles which punctuate this book, and the historical and almost fictional shed special from February this year. Each of these texts, not only furthering my interests, but making Folly a more rich, and hopefully, engaging letter.

So, thank you to everyone who wrote and read Folly this year, for giving substance to my monthly ramblings.
