My Archives, Your Archives, Our Archives

July 2024

Taking as its starting point the Bilderatlas Mnemosyne by Aby Warburg, ‘My Archives, Your Archives, Our Archives’ presents quotes and references from the upcoming Arch-ive publication. This includes interviews with Adam Nathaniel Furman, Asif Khan, Building on the Built (Jonathan Tuckey and Peter Youthed), DK-CM (David Knight, and Cristina Monteiro) Diana Ibanez Lopez, Edwin Heathcote, Manijeh Verghese, Roz Barr, and Studio naama, as well as essays by Krish Nathaniel, Loretta Bosence and Folly’s Rosie Ellison-Balaam.

These references are presented alongside personal citations, intuitive connections and loosely related notes by Dominic Eley (Arch-ive) and Rosie Ellison-Balaam (Folly). In the manner of the Warburg Atlas, connections have been instinctive, rather than defined by a rigid academic framework. To help focus the exhibition, six loose themes have been defined, sometimes with a duality to broaden the theme and instigate a wider range of interactions:

Analogue / Digital
Ghost References
Nature / Culture
New Perspectives
Slowness
Structure / Structural

As part of the exhibition, we invite you to add your own references under the selected themes, to collect together ‘Our Archives’ expanding the scope of the constellation.

The exhibition was a collaborative project between Folly and Arch-ive (Dominic Eley). It was held at Lot Projects between the 24th and 28th July 2024.
